As a Member of the Anoka Toastmasters for the past 18 years the amount of confidence I have gained is great.  The ability to learn to create and give great presentation is such a great motivator in my life.  I have been able to confidently give speeches to groups of over 300 people and have won many awards and recognition for my speeches.  I have also attained the level of DTM which is the highest award toastmasters gives to its members.  I am so proud of my club and am always striving to find new way to make improvements.  Thank you Anoka Toastmasters

How long have you been a Toastmaster? I have been a Toastmaster since February 2012

How did you hear about Toastmasters?  I heard about Toastmasters about 15 years ago. A lady where I worked was attending.

How do you remember feeling as a guest? I remember feeling welcomed, entertained and excited about joining the club.

What made you decide to join Toastmasters? The club is affordable and I was excited about tapping into my potential.

How has Toastmasters helped your personal and/or professional life? The people I work with respect me for being in the club. Toastmasters continues to help me gain confidence and courage in my personal and professional life.

What do you enjoy most about Toastmasters? This is a good question because honestly, it’s difficult to say I enjoy getting nervous about speaking. Rather I like that the club fosters a safe learning environment. I enjoy meeting new people, tapping into my courage, receiving constructive feedback and the overall journey.

What expectations did you have for our club? Are your expectations being met?  I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first attended Toastmasters, but what I discovered about the club is that it’s not just about giving prepared speeches. There are several different roles to help grow skills in listening, speaking and leadership. My expectations are being met.
